Foursquare merencanakan untuk merilis secara resmi aplikasi terbaru Swarm hari Kamis ini (atau besok hari Jumat WIB), launching ini sempat ditunda-tunda, pada saat perkenalan aplikasi Swarm dibilang akan rilis "coming week" terus hari Jumat lalu melalui blog nya merencanakan "next week" dan hari ini melalui akun twitter @SwarmApp aplikasi Swarm bakal rilis "tomorrow" atau besok Jumat waktu Indonesia.

Checkin History.
Di aplikasi Swarm kita masih bisa melihat history checkin yang berasal dari aplikasi sebelumnya Foursquare. Untuk melakukan pencarian ini dapat melalui halaman profil dan dapat menggunakan kata kunci nama kota, nama teman dan nama venue atau kategori venue untuk mencari history checkin.
Nearby Plans.
Salah satu fitur baru yang dapat digunakan untuk melihat lokasi teman terdekat dan dapat digunakan untuk merencanakan suatu meet up. Fitur "nearby plans" ini akan dapat dilihat oleh teman dalam satu kota.
Neighborhood Sharing.
Fitur ini memungkinkan untuk mengetahui teman dalam lokasi terdekat (neighborhood), fitur ini bisa dinonaktifkan apabila diperlukan demi keperluan privacy.
Ketiga fitur tersebut bakal ada di aplikasi Swarm milik Foursquare, penggunaan Swarm nantinya akan lebih ke checkin sedangkan Foursquare lebih fokus ke explore lokasi.
Di aplikasi Swarm juga masih akan ada Mayorship tetapi akan ada versi terbaru Mayor 2.0 yang berbeda.
"With these new mayorships, if you and a couple friends have been checking in to a place, the person who has been there the most lately gets a crown sticker. So you and your friends can compete for the mayorship of your favorite bar, without having to worry about the guy who is there every. single. day. Mayors 2.0 means that places can have many different mayors, one for each circle of friends, instead of just a single mayor at each place."
Aplikasi Swarm juga menyediakan "Stickers"! mirip dengan stiker di layanan messenger kali ini Swarm dilengkapi dengan Stiker buat interaksi antar pengguna.
"In the new Swarm, we built a bunch of stickers you can attach to your check-ins to quickly express how you feel or what you’re doing. (Don’t worry, they’re all free!) We’ll give you a few to start off with and, as you go out and explore the world, you’ll unlock more based on the places you visit. (Hint: try checking in at lots of different types of places to unlock new ones!)"
Lalu bagaimana dengan Badges? Badge Swarm atau sebelumnya badge Foursquare akan tetap ada di Trophy Case bahkan akan ada badges yang lain.
"In the new Foursquare (coming this summer), we’ve also built the spiritual successor to badges. Badges were always meant to recognize and reward people who would seek out and find awesome things in the real world, and we found a great new way to do that. Stay tuned for more!"
